The contribution of JDV Construction to Habitat for Humanity

Local firm, JDV Construction, recently donated thousands of dollars worth of building materials to Habitat for Humanity. Door knobs, carpet, and doors were all included in the recent truck full given to Habitat. JDV Owner, John Vondersaar, explained, “We donate extra building supplies to Habitat as often as we can. I know the material isn’t being wasted and people who need it are benefiting. That’s what is most important.”

Many local Habitat for Humanity affiliates operate ReStores, which sell reusable and surplus building materials, furniture and appliances to the public. The proceeds fund local Habitat house construction.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
